Columbia professor target of anti-Semitic vandalism: NYPD

A vandal spray painted two large swastikas and an anti-Semitic slur on the office walls of a Columbia Teachers College professor on Wednesday, the NYPD said.

Professor Elizabeth Midlarsky, who is Jewish, was targeted in the vandalism, which was found at about 11:45 a.m. at the school on 120th Street near Broadway. The NYPD is investigating the graffiti as a possible hate crime.

Midlarsky said Wednesday night that she was floored by the hateful screeds.

“I was horrified, shocked,” she said. “I had to hold on to something I was so shocked.”...
