Report ID: 4756007696818647381

Verbal altercation with the man in the picture.
We walked away but the guy kept following us, shouting profanity and trying to provoke a response. We stopped at a restaurant between 94th and 95th to safeguard ourselves as by then, we felt threatened. He came up and in Michael’s face, he continued provoking him. He then came over to me and punched my arm because I was about 15 feet away, videoing the encounter. Michael rushed over to defend me and the guy swings around on him. He punched Micheal in the jaw and took off when people started to come up.
Anywho- the police caught him and instead of having a lovely, relaxing end of the week, we spent an hour with the police and EMT. Unfortunately, the police can’t do anything because beating a man on the streets is not a felony in NYC. They said that a guy can do something like this 100 times and there is nothing they can do but process and release him. It’s only a felony if the person they attack is 65 years and older, or seriously injured, dead or almost dead. He was arrested and taken to the station but released a few hours after.
